I use the spyder II calibator. I am wondering if if after calibration I can simply somehow install the profile created by the calibrator and uninstall the calibration software until the next time I need to calibrate?

Are you on Mac or Windows? I'm assuming you're using Datacolor's monitor calibration software? Why would you want to uninstall the software?

I am on Windows XP machine. I want to uninstall the software because I think it's just eating up the memory for nothing.

the calibration software should just create the Windows profile that is used by XP. I don't think there is any reason to uninstall it. The Windows Task Manager should confirm this.

Don't know about Datacolor, but i1Match has a little utility that runs at startup which enforces loading of the default profile (presumably the one you created), but nothing stays running / resident in RAM.

Now if you're concerned about disk space (and not RAM), I'd say, "Don't be", unless you're on the most spartan of SSD setups (like just a 32gb or 64gb.) The software can't possibly take up more than 100 Megs, and storage is cheap

The MacIntosh operating systems automatically perform the task of the utility referred to above. Windows XP does not. Hence the need to run this utility at startup.
