Calibrating my Canon P range finder

I think Canon P is a great camera. My poor man's Leica. I calibrated the rangefinder a couple months back and it's out of calibration again. I've been packing my Canon P in a padded camera bag and loaded on my front bike basket. I think the jarring has been throwing the rangefinder out of alignment. Do any of you have the same experience?

Not with a canon P, but with my leica cl. Took it with me in a padded camera bag on a 4 hour hike, midway I wanted to take a picture with it and it would not line up at all at infinity. I am not sure but I think it was bouncing around a bit.

Wow. Even with a Leica. I guess rangefinders are meant to travel rough. Hope you got everything recalibrated with your fine camera.

When you calibrated the RF did you seal the screw with anything?
Nail polish?

I can't. There's a hole where I access the calibration screw. I would hate to open it up to put nail polish to lock to screw. Thanks for that tip.
