I've managed to pick up a California Stainless WH-1200 recirculating water heater on the cheap, formerly used in a pro lab. These are typically used to maintain temperature in a water jacket for dip-n-dunk type processing. I'll be using it for water bath temp control in my own processing.

I have the rather terse instructions that come with the unit, but they're mum on matters of placement of the unit relative to the water bath -- above, level with, or even below(*). I was wondering if anyone has experience with these, and has any sense of what works best in arranging the heater relative to the water bath?

(*) though below seems right out, as it could lead to water running down towards the unit and possibly to components outside of the water seals.

Sigh. That would be smart now, wouldn't it? Thanks ic-racer, I'll definitely do that.

In any case, if anyone who's used one of these has advice to share, do chime in. Thanks!
