My tank uses 500ml. My bottle has 1000ml of fresh developer in it. Should I use a 500ml bottle, pour into the tank, then pour it back into the 500ml bottle for reuse until exhausted? Or should I just use the 1000ml bottle. Wouldnt I get more life by saving 500ml of fresh developer? Please advise.

Your tank instructions or C41 instructions should include a quantity to use per unit of film. If all else fails, go to the Kodak web site where there are pages of instructions for all types of processing conditions.

Yours tank capacity is not the same as quantity needed for developing.
For example, one roll of 135 is 325 mg for my tank.
So, I have to divide 1L by three pats.

Give it a try. Use 500 ml bottles to store it in the fridge.

Are you not limited for the rest of the chemicals?

the requirement for each 120 film is 500ml. The storage bottle is 1000ml. I thought I would have two 500ml bottles. One one was exhausted, then I could start the next bottle of fresh. I just wonder if it would last longer this way? Also, does temperature affect the storage life or only exposure to air?
