Hi all,

I'm curious about what 4x5 C41 processing costs.

I'm heading out for a trip down Route 66, Chicago to LA, with my 12 y/o son in a 10 y/o Jeep, in about 2 weeks. Got lots of MF color and B/W film, and lots of 4x5 b/w..... but was thinking about getting a pack of Fuji color 4x5.

Only thing is that none of the local labs process it, and since I do my own B/W processing, I've no idea what retail processing of a sheet of 4x5 film costs.

So, what's a realistic price for 4x5 C41 processing? Processing of the neg is all that I need.

Best,

Yep, $2.50 a sheet is what I paid a couple months ago.

The trick, however, is finding a lab that'll do it. Many of the big labs that used to process C-41 in sheet sizes have stopped and have focussed their attention on processing E6 materials.

Thanks for the heads-up.

I figure once I have the exposed sheets, I'll have to be willing to ship them out for processing. The nearest towns to me are Detroit and Toledo, and the Toledo labs I use don't do C41 4x5 (though they do sell the stuff). I'm not sure if I can source a place in Detroit to do the work, but if not, UPS means I can send the negs anywhere.

While in LA you can have your C41's done at AandI (aandi.com). $2.50 ea. and 4x5s are no problem.

Perfect - I think that's exactly what I'll do.

Thanks, John!

Hi -- in Detroit, try Spectrum Photo in Berkley, MI. They do everything up to 8x10, but I don't know the price. I take my E6 to them and they do a terrific job. Their website is www.spectrumfoto.com.
