C-41 final rinse question

i am now out of kodak c-41 final rinse and was going to reorder some today. I also do my own e-6 development at home and use the fuji 6 bath. I ordered the large size bottles, not the smaller 6 bath kit, so I have a lot of e-6 fuji hunt final rinse. I was wondering if I could use that with c-41 films? c41 final rinse is like $10 so its not a cost issue, its just seems like i have now a lifetime supply of e-6 final rinse. i'll include the e-6 final rinse below. I think it does not have formalin in it as it clearly states in the directions that it must be used with the conditioner to be archival.

Should probably be OK. For dye stability contemporary c41 films don't need a stabilizer anyway. You may want to use one to prevent fungal growth and/or water marks.

This should be usable. Check the MSDS for a fungicide / bacteriocide.

The EU version uses pre bleach 2 and final rinse and replenisher. The Final rinse and replenisher contains miconazole.

EU dictated new biocide regulations in the 1990s. Formaldehyde is banned.

For some reason the US Fuji Hunt folks stuck with the old system that still uses conditioner and the Rinse plus that AFAIK still contains formaldehyde.

I had a discussion with a Fuji sales rep. Supposedly Fuji Hunt US is being folded into Fujifilm, it would be nice to see a global platform of chemistry.

If you want to see the EU E6 datasheets you need to go to Fujifilm eu website. Nuts!

The E6 chemistry uses a precursor to Formaldehyde, that is converted to an active form during the process. It is not in the Fuji or Kodak Final Rinse.

Other companies have used straight Formalin or an analog in their stabilizers, or have left it out totally. This causes serious loss of Magenta dye in the mid tones and often causes browning of the image as well.

I checked all relevant and less relevant MSDS of Fuji's E-6 chemistry, and there is nothing listed in there which I would recognize as Formaldehyde precursor. Is there a precursor to Formaldehyde, which would not have to show up in an MSDS?

I have come to the decision to forget about cost, replenishment etc. For now I have the made in Belgium Fuji Pro6 5 L material. I will use one shot in my Jobo CPP3. I love looking at slides.
I have a bunch of film to shoot.

Rudi, AFAIK, the Fuji and Kodak kits supply a Formalin precursor in the pre-bleach. The final rinse is only for killing microorganisms.

What what compound could this be? If Formaldehyde is carcinogenic, then any precursor should be considered the same, especially if it releases Formaldehyde in aqueous solution. I'm still trying to wrap my head around the fact, that this alleged precursor is not listed in Fuji's Prebleach MSDS.

There are several that come to mind. Trioxymethylene is one and the other is Sodium Formaldehyde Bisulfite. Both rather low in toxicity until activated. Kodak used the Former in E1 processing and I have a patent on the second. There are references here to use of precursors.
