My cibachrome processor is getting thirsty and I have been unable to find Ilfochrome chemicals, besides walking into B&H to buy it, which I can't do as I'm in NC.......

Anyone know someplace that I can order chemicals and get them shipped to me in NC?

Freestyle has them via special order only. About 90 bucks for a 2L kit.

Well, I couldn't find anything on the web site

Give them a call--sometimes they can get certain items that they get drop-shipped from the manufacturer which don't end up as regular retail items. It wouldn't surprise me if they would at least be able to inquire about whether they could do it for you or not.

Have you tried CALLING them? Jeez....

No as they didn't have it on the web site, so I figured they didn't have it..... B&H has it on their site, and it states that they can not ship it...... so I was looking for some suggestions from people that might have actually bought some in the last few months.... since I haven't had any in over a year.

Thanks for the suggestions.... I'll make some calls.

Search Ebay stonemills has a surplus for 200 bucks that has expired on auction 3 times in a row--and they are starting to drop the price to get a bite...I have thought of it--but the paper is the next problem----

As I am a low on paper I need to get paper with the chemistry too.....

And that is the old chemistry, and it has a shelf life of 3 years, as I have used it in the past..... and Ilford seem to be correct with that estimate as I have used some of this same powered chemicals long after they expired..... and it is also missing the fixer......

This is probably the case, most photographic chemicals are considered class 8 dangerous goods (corrosive), and need special handling. The shipper must have someone in place that can deal with spills, the shipping company needs to handle the items in a special manner and often needs a special licence. This makes the shipping very expensive. The Ilford distributor does this all the time, shipping to retailers as do Kodak and Fuji, they ship in enough volume that they have discounted rates. Doesn't make sense to ship the chemicals to Freestyle and the go through the expense of shipping them to the customer. So they simply get the distributor to ship directly to the customer. Don't be surprised if the return address on the printed shipping label doesn't say Freestyle, but the address will be the distributors address. I work for a courier, and this practise is more common then you think.

See my first response:

That is all you need to know. Just call them up and place a special order.

I've gotten a quote on Ilfochrome supplies from the guy who runs the www.ilfordstore.com website. Ilfochrome stuff isn't on his website either, but if you ask him nicely he will get and ship chemicals to you, and did offer to get the color stuff for me last year. His name is Rob, and his email is (or was - haven't chatted in a while) info@pc-cameras.ca.

Any store that carries Ilford SHOULD be able to order it for you but 99.9999999% of them will tell you they cant. They are wrong. Make sure to correct them and tell them the Ilford distributor, Wynit, carries it and just does an awful job of letting retailers know that. Then when you become exhausted by their ignorance and/or refusal to contact Wynit to find out you are right, order from Freestyle. I've received some in the last month. I finally convinced my local store they could get it, but they only order Ilford products occasionally so it isnt worth the wait.
