Hello,

Could you please suggest some shops in Okinawa that sell Fuji films - Acros 100, Velvia 50, 100, Provia 100F, 400H and 160NS both in 35mm and 120 format. Anything similar to Yodobashi out there? Any tips regarding film purchase from there? It's only a 4 days long trip.

I've been to Okinawa but never had to look for film there. That being said, I believe there is a Camera no Kitamura on the island: they will probably have a small selection of film, all Fuji, all colour (you'll be lucky if the have any black and white), in 35mm and 120. I've also read that a BIC Camera opened there earlier this year, they may or may not have film: in the past they used to be pretty similar to Yodobashi, film-wise, but now I've noticed that some BICs no longer carry any film. As a new store it's hard to say whether they will have dedicated space to film.

You can also order film online from Yodobashi. I've done it before using Google translate, it's pretty easy and they have a fast delivery service, usually within 24 hours but it may be longer for Okinawa. Maybe your hotel would be willing to sign for it so it'll be there before you get there?

I have not tried to order from yodobashi, but buying things online and posting things to hotels I'm staying at in Japan isn't a foreign concept to me. I have done it few times.
The things to make sure of are, book the hotel in the same name that you will post the package to.
Buy that stuff ahead of time, 1 week is plenty. On arrival the package will be in your room. Easy!

Dear Rachelle and Jarek: Thank you very much for your help.

Jarek: My father-in-law is already there. He is not very good with online shopping. AFAIK, he has no plan of travelling to Tokyo. Otherwise, he would've gone to Yodobashi and Bic.

Could you please tell me Kitamura's Okinawa contact details (phone, email and address)? I can then give those details to him. I can't make sense from the Google translation!

Bests,

You can do the online shopping, and the paying and the shipping. etc... you don't need your father in law. All you need is his address.

You are welcome.
