Buying an old FF body today

I have found a good deal on a well used 1Ds body. I've been wanting to try one of these "pro" bodies forever but I am also interested in actual performance since I do not have cash to burn.

The specs of the specific body seem good enough for me with a 11.1 Full Frame CMOS sensor o/b. Yes, the LCD is total crap but who cares when a histogram is all you really need.

Basically I shoot landscapes and travel shots. Within budget is only a 5D but for some reason I feel you get much more "bang for your buck" with the 1Ds.

All comments/thoughts/advice most welcome.

That is the only Canon camera I wish I still owned. It is a heavy bugger but it can certainly bring home the photos.

I still own a 5D but would trade it in a minute to have that old weatherproof tank back. In fact, I just may check into doing that.

The 1Ds, the L24-105, a nice 100mm macro, and the L200-400 and I could be happy.
