Long-time lurker here named Jay, finally decided to join up. I reside in Butte, Montana.
Retired after 32 years in newspapers -- mostly as a reporter and editor but always filled in photography-wise -- in Maine, Pa., South Dakota, Colorado and Montana.
I guess I'm a camera collector, of sorts, mostly equipment I used in my work but also heirlooms like my grandfather's 3A folding Brownie (and his negatives) and my dad's Rollie, which he picked up in Germany during the war. I even have the Diana I was required to use in college in Ohio in 1970 -- to put all the students on the same footing -- long before the Loma craze.
I have tens of thousands of negatives and slides from my family and my work, and a fairly good wet darkroom.
I now work part-time for a builder of super-efficient homes, which I do in digital, but I still like and admire the old way of capturing and making images.
