She ain't too cute, but she sure has a great personality. Ok, this is a lens we are talking about, not your cousin. We are talking the bottom line and the bottom line is this lens, which has both the orignal front and rear caps and will carry the water for you. Good sharp pictures, glass with no distractions and nice smooth mechanics. Good clean aperture blades. Yours for $35 shipped in the US.
Don't worry about the exterior of the lens being ugly, just think of it "character" acquired from many years of producing excellent images. Others may see you as being a character for having such a long lasting relationship with your lens. They won't laugh at you or kick sand in your face when they see your beautiful images. Let this one bring experience to your kit for pennies. Bill Barber
I've already got all the FD glass I need, but I do have a question that may be of interest to other potential purchasers: is this a macro lens? The FD 55/3.5 is, and it's an amazing piece of work. I do a lot of shooting with mine.
Good catch, Duncan. I'm filling the post with a more than an appropriate amount of BS and I leave out an essential piece of information. Yes, it is a Macro Canon Lens. Great as a normal lens and designed as a Macro lens. Did I mention it has perfect glass and mechanicals and is butt ugly? At this price, including postage, cost less than taking your best friend/spouse to a new movie with coke and pop corn. Bill Barber
