Ok, well I was playing around with my little Pressman 2x3, and lo and behold, I discovered that It has a focusing light while I was re-calibrating the rangefinder.

How were these things powered? Did it draw battery power directly from an attached flash unit? What was the voltage usually put through these things? I am thinking about building a battery pack to go onto the flash bracket, but I don't want to burn out anything If I can help it.

Is it just a standard flashlight bulb?

Well, right now it's powered by a button cell because I couldn't find another lightbulb and put in an amber led instead... The problem is that it looks kind of sloppy because the system projects the shape of the diode element...

A laser pointer would probably be a better to put in the same spot.

Does anyone know where to get new bulbs for these? The only light bulbs I have are the types that have aluminum threads, and are not suitable for soldering the picky little wire onto.
