Interesting, so when I eventually get my TLR, I can get some 70mm film and just trim it? sounds like a terrific way to save some serious cash, at least for 120/220 film. Would this also work for 620? I will soon be owning a 620 camera, and the price wanted for film is outrageous.

You don't need to buy bulk film for 620 unless you really want to. Film, backing paper, spool, the only difference between 120 and 620 is the spool. Really, I promise. You can buy yourself some 620 spools from the big auction site, buy some 120 from the local camera store or online, and so long as you have either a dark room or a changing bag (which you can also buy online and maybe from the local camera store), you are set to go and can, with a little patience, respool 120 film onto 620 spools. There's lots of videos on YouTube that show how to do this. This is what I do for my 620 camera.

Provia film must be available in bulk as the lab that develops my film sells 35mm canisters of bulk loaded Provia.

You can't even get sheet film in bulk anymore, unless you call 10 exposures "bulk". But at least I can get it...

You (we) could try for a long length of 120 on a reel next year but it would be mono...

Some of the Eastman cine color films are processed in C-41 or E-6 chemistry. If you can find short-ends these can be quite reasonable.
