In this case, "IED" stands for instant exposure device. "It's a good thing", as Martha would say.

If you click on the camera tab on the site, it bring your to a beautiful short movie on the operation of the camera. Fantastic!

Nope. Just tasteless.

Tasteless, perhaps, but undeniably true, a Royal Marines sergeant from my former unit I knew was killed by an I.E.D three days ago in Afghanistan .

Yeah, but you do realize that not everyone in Afghanistan is a terrorist, nor is that the overarching characteristic of their culture, right?

That's all we're saying I guess. I'd hate for my home land to be seen as so one-dimensional.

Great site! Thanks for sharing. Really interesting facet of world photography history, and true street level photography and business. Think of the stories you'd get to share doing this all day.

Regrettable but irrelevant to this thread.

Yes a wonderful and very interesting link about this project, I take my hat off to these people trying to make an honest living to support their families. Maybe we can each send a box of paper to keep them merrily clicking along and so keep the wolves from their doors.

Romary do you have any contact details of the guy that is on his last batch of paper that those interested can post a box or two to him?

Read the stories of the afghan photographers, a nice read. But some of them have quite sad stories.
