Just now i used Wetting agent for the first time on the last wash when developing TRI-X 400. LOADS of bubbles were there when i had finished, as if i had just done the washing up!! Didn't really know what to do, so i briefly washed the bubbles off with water, defeating the who purpose of using it on the last wash...
Are the bubbles normal and what should i do with them before hanging the film up to dry?

Sorry if this is a stupid question!

Thanks, Alex.

Do not agitate, just dip the film in the final rinse and let it sit for a minute.

Also, if you take the water from tap, let it sit for a few minutes before mixing wetting agent to allow air bubbles to come out, and mix carefully. Using distilled or deionized water is also highly recommended.

I learned this trick for a final rinse from Les McLean: Start with distilled water, add 1 drop of wetting agent and a half capful or so of isopropyl alcohol. Rinse the film and hang in a dust free place for spotless negatives. I can't remember the last time I have had to spot a print.

I keep the solution in a Tupperware container and reuse a number of times, adding another drop of wetting agent and cap of alcohol each time. I try to remember to mix the solution up while the film is still developing so that any bubbles have had a chance to subside, although I don't think they hurt anything.
