Did my first attempt and had some success but have questions about the brush I have been using. I got it from Bostick and sullivan and found when using the "pounce technique" I actually ended up piercing and tearing up the gelatin in that area! so my conclusion is the brush is too stiff or the gelatin wasn't up to snuff. I used `250 bloom ossien from Bostick and Sullivan on Arches platine, 3 coats with a brush.
I was really pleased with what can be achieved and realizie I need a great amount of practice and maybe a softer brush or even a decoator roller.:D
