I processed a couple rolls of 35mm Ilford HP5+ recently and the negatives have a heavy brown tint in the area where they should be clear. Is this a fixing issue?
The only time I have had this is down to fixer, over using the working strength fixer caused this for me, I re fixed them and they were fine, I mix 600ml of WS fixer, use it a max of 8 times then discard, fixer is cheap compared to a damaged or lost negative
It's a fixer problem when the fixer started to go bad it will do this. Try cutting off a test strip of you usual film and dunk it in a measuring cup of fixer and tome how long it takes to fix and adjust accordingly, if it takes to long to be practical it may be time for a new bottle of fix.
