Brownie Wet Plate Studio Kits

Wet plate is getting extremely popular, so we've put together a *COMPLETE* tintype studio, including camera! We use vintage Brownies which will shoot a tintype plate with no modifications. With our kit, you could be shooting tintypes in just a few hours!

The first Studio Kit is the Brownie no.3 Quarter Plate Kit, which shoots a perfect 3 1/4" x 4 1/4" image on a slightly oversized plate.

The Brownie lives again! Good that you're giving them a new life.

Joe Smigiel has made several of these he uses in his workshops and they are really fun to work with. Kerik Kouklis' daughter, Sarah has made some pretty cool plates with one she has as well. The lenses work well with the process and they make some really nice images.

Newbie Question

I'm thinking about buying one of these kits instead of jumping into getting an 8x10 and finding a lens and all that. I have a couple of questions though.

How large of a paper print can I comfortably get out of a 4x5 plate? What do you do about a tripod for these cameras? This looks like it includes all of the chemicals I need, the camera etc. but what else will I need for the dark room set up? A red light and obviously a dark room with ventilation but anything else?

Any info would be much appreciated. I have big plans for this technique and I just want to make sure I understand the limitations of this set up.
