Brownie Starflash

I found my grandmas old Brownie Starflash and I have been doing some research it seems to use 127 film, anybody know if I can load it with 120 film or do I have to respool it (I have 2 127 spools that were in the camera). Thanks!

127 film is narrower than 120. 120 can be re-spooled to 620, but not 127. There are still a couple of places that sell 127. Freestyle is one of them.

120 film is incompatible with 127. Completely different size.

You can still buy 127 film if you want to pay the premium price.

However, it is possible to cut 120 film down to the 127 size then re-roll it onto the 127 spools you already have:

Kodak Star 127 camera family

I was a Freshman in college and working in a camera store part time when the Star family of cameras were introduced in the fall of 1957 at a big Kodak kickoff party in Detroit. They were great cameras and we sold lots of them.

You can find bulk 46mm film on ebay. That's the right width for 127, all you need is the paper and a changing bag or blacked out room to roll your own.

My first camera was a Starflash. I used that camera until I bought my first 35mm, Argus C3. My first camera also was the Starflash. Nice results if you were in sunlight over your right shoulder, otherwise apt to underexpose as I recall. Cellphone cameras are probably better today, so why bother.
