I decided to try some 16 yo HC-110 I had lying around to see what would happen. I developed TMax400 120 film using stand development @ 1:120 for 1 hr. My first try at stand development and the uniformity, contrast and density are perfect! I couldn't believe it. But that's another topic. The one problem is a very light brown stain that I can wipe off with my fingers when the negs are still wet. Any suggestions on how to eliminate this? I've never had this problem before with D-76 and D-23. I only used a water rinse between dev. & fix so that may be the problem. I'm thinking of soaking the developed negs in sodium sulfite to see if that works.

Thanks for the reply. Since I can remove it with my fingers it doesn't sound like dichroic fog. I'm now suspecting it did have to do with no stop bath and weak fixer. I'll retest. If that doesn't work than you may in fact be right.
