Hey APUG, I'm Aaron in central Brooklyn, NY. Been lurking on this site for years, but decided to start an account and actually take part in the community.

I'm a 28 year old stagehand and I've been shooting film for the entirety of my time as a photographer. I studied alternative processes and large format in college, but lately I've been shooting mostly medium format. I'm so dedicated to doing things the hard way and getting frustrated that I converted my bathroom into a permanent darkroom. but this being brooklyn, I only have enough surface area for three chemistry trays so I rarely make silver prints. Started doing my own c41 processing here at home too, a messy and unprecise project, but economically it's pretty great.

who else is around prospect lefferts?

Welcome Aaron,

Im fairly new as well, from Newark..
Just finished gathering all the bits to make a temporary darkroom in a windowless room I have. Hopefully I get to printing this weekend...

Welcome to APUG

If you want to use four trays you need to get a left handed bathroom stretcher.

Welcome to Brooklyn based photography. I'm one of the old guys and just celebrated 45 years in our house in Carroll Gardens. Been shooting B/W 4X5 exclusively for the last couple of years and am thinking of venturing into Medium Format.

Not exactly local, a short train ride away in Long Beach. Hello!

Great. I do not even know of a photo academy here that offers such.

Welcome to Apug!

Well..... I was lucky, one of the last groups of kids to get access (my own 24hr studio space too). after I graduated the analog dept was pretty much dismantled and the studio was sold to a brewery. now I think they pretty much just teach graphic design and silkscreening. good for kids wanting to learn a practical craft, but bad for young nerds like us.

from aug 1 to aug 8 I'll be the guy with a Leica M4 and possibly a Rolleicord vacationing in Manhattan from Utah. We're staying in Harlem.
