I discovered that the lever was missing but the retaining screw was still in place. I heard that the plastic was a common failure so I didn't bother trying hard to find one. None were clearly out there. So, take one brass Yale door key, make a 3mm drilled hole. File a slot then saw out at lever shape and spent 30 minutes sanding it down to thickness.

I'm just curious how thick is your saw and what's the gap created when you cut through metal?

It is a jewellery saw. The blade is so fine that I needed a magnifier to see which side the teeth were on. These blades are clamped into the saw and then stretched tight by pulling the one leg through a channel fitted with a thumb screw to hold it tight. I estimate the cut width is just less than 1mm. It cuts very quickly and you can change direction easily too.
