Hi All,
I doubt if there's enough information here to get an answer but just in case someone recognises the problem here goes:
I've been shooting my SQ-A for a while now and have not had any issues until today:
Today I was trying to wind on the film from frame 12 using the winder on the (detached) back so I could take the film out and develop it. Despite having no problems actually shooting and winding-on the 12 frames the day before the film now simply would not wind on - the winder turned and turned, very freely, but the counter stayed put on frame 12. I tried reattaching the back and using the crank on the camera but still the film stayed put on frame 12. I even tried removing the dark slide and firing the shutter - but still no wind-on. Eventually I decided I had little choice but to open the back. I could see right away that the film had wound on to frame 12 or thereabouts, but not to the end of the roll. Strangely now the back was open I was able to wind the film on to the end using the winder on the back. I can't understand why it wan't winding - especially as it got to frame 12 during shooting. I have tested the empty back and the winder seems to work fine - with plenty of torque on the take-up reel.
Thinking about it now - it occurs to me that this might be the first time that I've used this particular back - so it may be at fault - but it seems odd that it could take all 12 shots and then fail only at the final wind-on stage.
Any comments or advice would be much appreciated.
