My Bronica just started to act up. I can no longer fire off my shutter. I was forced to use the film wind lock release button in order to save the images on my roll. When there is no film in the camera, you can fire the shutter by pressing the ME (Multiple Exposure) button but that no longer works. It only works in the bulb position but it doesn't even hold the shutter open, it just instantly closes. Batteries are fresh and everything seems to work well expect the shutter. In aperture-priority mode, I can change the F stop and it communicates with the body perfectly. I'm thinking that the shutter in my lens is broken but I am not sure because no one has posted anything about it on the internet. I'm hoping you guys can help me, thanks.

Check the electrical contacts between the body and lens. Make sure they're clean and the body-side contacts spring in and out without binding.

I haven't heard that this is a common problem with the RF645, and haven't seen it with mine, or with any of the lenses for my SQ-A, which are also electronic shutters.

Good Luck!

The electrical contacts look fine. When I try to fire the shutter, I can sort of hear it trying to fire. It is a very faint motor sound I believe.

I've had new batteries that test good with a voltmeter but with a load(shutter release) didn't work. Do you have another battery on hand?

Tried a few different brands of CR2 batteries with no luck, same issue. Anyone know of a place or person that could possibly repair it if it is that serious? No local photo stores have a lens that I could test either. So I may just have to buy a new lens to try to isolate the problem.
