Bronica / Metz SCA 386 module

Maybe someone can help me with a little information on the Metz 386 adaptor.

I bought it used so do not have an instruction manual. I have searched online but can't find anything.

If I want TTL flash metering on my SQAi do I simply..

1, Set my gun ( Metz 45CL4 ) to TTL .

2, Set the film speed on the gun

3, Set my aperture and shutter manually on the SQAi

4, let the camera and gun do the rest.

I use a WLF or a non metered prism......or do I have to have a metered prism??

I use the SCA 386 in combination with a Bronica ETRSi (45x60 mm), the same flash and module as you do, dont have a manual either. I follow exact the same procedure, which gives me beautifully exposed negatives. I attach the SCA 386 module to the camera sliding it into the flash adapter on top of the speedgrip (no electrical contacts there), set the film speed on the SCA's dial, connect the round connector to the camera and the ten-contacts in-row connector to the flashgun. You can set the shutter (manually) to any speed, because the flash will fire when it's entirely open (at least if your camera has a central shutter in each lens, like the ETRSi), but usually I use 1/100 or 1/60. Choose the aperture according to your DOF-requirements. Set the gun to TTL and the correct ISO and you're all set.
Works wonderfully with bounce flash too. No TTL metered prism needed.

I have run a film through like this to test it, good to know it has worked for you.

I also tried a couple on the auto aperture settings just to try it although I would imagine it would need a metered prism for that. Anyway it's the TTL I really want.

Going to develop it tomorrow. Looking forward to seeing the results !
