Bronica GS-1 question

The GS-1 had an older and newer version: One had a silver shutter release, while the other had a black shutter release.
Which color release is the newer version? Thank you for your reply.

Thanks for the answer and links. I'm guessing many may not have known of this difference and this thread may help them if an GS-1 purchase is in their future. This camera is next on my list.

I didn't realize/payed attention to the difference either. At least within the GS-1 model. I've noticed it with the ETRS/ETRSi and SQ-A/SQ-Ai

The latest versions had a black button. It's easy, look at the serial numbers. If you look al all the bodies offered on Ebay you can see the serial numbers and get a sense of the range. When Bronica upgraded their SQ-A to the SQ-Ai the buttons on all models changed to black. That was about 1990. The GS-1 is a fantastic body, they hold up very well regardless of which one you buy.
