My WLFer won’t lock onto the ETRS body. Locking pin looks to go up and down OK. Anything else to look for? Btw, I don’t have any other finder to test against.

On my Etrs that small pin on the RHS is pretty much all that locks my waist level finder to the body . Can you remove the finder
without depressing the button on the RHS of the camera body ? Peter

Yes, I can slide the finder back without touching the little button where you mentioned. The finder is in firmly when pushed all the way forward. I’m just wondering why the pin doesn’t lock the finder.

When you slide the finder forward all the way, you should hear a little click as the pin pops up to engage the hole in the finder base. (I don't have a WLF but I assume the engagement is similar to the prism.) It sounds like this is not happening. Probably something is slightly misshapen and either the WLF is not sliding forward all the way, or the hole in the base is a little out of shape or misaligned so that the pin doesn't engage. Take it off and look for dents in the finder or body, crud in the body grooves that would block the finder from sliding forward all the way, etc.

I figured it’s pretty basic slide and click lock. I wonder if the pin is slightly bent. Doesn’t look like it to me. Everything else works just fine. This is a new to me camera. I like it’s size and the way it feels in my hand.

Upon further inspection , I find the locking pin ( rear right hand side ) should protrude about 1/8" above the mounting surface .
The corresponding hole that receives the pin should be clean . Is the surface of the WLF in fact flat ? Peter
