Hi there.

This is probably a long shot but I’m looking for a 135W, panoramic film back for the Bronica ETR system.
Hoping to pay less than eBay prices.

If you have one you’d be willing to part with, please PM me.

Edited for clarification:
I do shoot medium format film. I also want the option of shooting pano.

Personally, I’m not interested in cropping 6x4.5. I would like to cut out that step and be able to develop exactly what I compose through the viewfinder mask.

Furthermore, shooting a roll of 36 exposure 35mm film with the 135W back yields more frames per roll than cropping 120mm stock. I realize that cropping 220 stock would give more frames per roll but that would severely limit my film options.

Thanks!

You have a really good medium format camera (ETR/ETRC/ETR-C/ETRS/ETRSi).

Now please shoot medium format film, 120 or 220.

Want "pano" format? Crop your 6x4.5 frame. A 120 roll costs the same as a 35mm film cartridge, so it makes little sense to use that silly 135W back.

Still, it also makes little sense considering the widest rectilinear lens for the ETR is the 40/4 lens (which I own). Not wide enough to give a convincing "panorama" shoot.

Supply and demand! Check the sold listings. no doubt you have, and wondered where you'd get the money from to buy a "W" .. my problem also. I just go on with other photography. Even a screen for the "W" can be US$150, unless you mask your existing 4.5x6 screen, trying not to ruin it.

Why not try the after market 3rd party back? It looks fine to me, and it comes with a viewfinder mask. That's the way I'd go if I got serious about 135W shooting. It's not much of a panorama anyway in my opinion. My preferred way is to stand back with a Mamiya Press 6x9, wide 58mm lens, crop top and bottom for spectacular panos of subjects that are suited to it.

I may try that 3rd party back but I don’t like that it’s all plastic. 🤷🏻‍♂️ it’s still a good deal cheaper I’ll give you that.

Now please shoot medium format film, 120 or 220.

The problem with your proposal arises when the photographer wishes to shoot any emulsion which is available in 135, but not made available in 120.

Correction: For the Mamiya Press I use a 65mm lens. The 58mm lens is for my Koni Omega Rapid. Both fine lenses for making pano shots.

Hi JB. I’ve seen this website but I wary of it. I haven’t found any genuine user reviews of it. I also wonder how durable it can be considering its all-plastic build. But thank you just the same for the tip.

Fully understand. I don't own the 3D-printed back, so I can't recommend it. The back intrigues me but not to the point of actually buying one.

I've bought from them in the past, so they are a real seller, but yeah, a complicated manual device like that made for a bunch of incompatible formats like 4 different Bronicas, plus Hasselblad and Mamiya. My assumption is there is not interlocks between the back and the camera--so wind on the back, not with the camera crank, no dark slide interlock, etc. It might be fun to try simply because there are emulsions on 35 that you cant get on 120, but otherwise, shoot 120 and crop.

Thank you for the feedback. It’s helpful to know they are a legitimate seller. I do enjoy experimenting with different film stocks. I may try their pano back just for fun. I was really hoping to avoid cropping my regular 120 shots bit if I opt not to take a chance on this then I may wind up doing just that.

Noted.
Still on the lookout for a Bronica 135W pano back.
Thanks.
