Has anyone ever used bromoil bleach (with potassium dichromate) for just regular split tone bleaching like the kind in the kodak sepia kit? I saw a formula in Tim Rudman's Toner book pg 32 that contains the dichromate. I've run out of Kodak bleach, and still have some bromoil bleach. I'd just wonder what the dichromate does in this situation (split toning) as I thought it was a sensitizer. The difference I see is the ratios.

The formula is for Solution A: 5 g potassium ferricyanide, 5g potassium bromide, 2.5g potassium dichromate, hydrochloric acid 10%, water to make 1000ml

Thanks,
Dorothy

Well, if Photo Engineer doesn't chime in, would be easy to test I suppose. Make a little batch in a 5x7 tray, etc...

I've always wondered if unfixed bormoil matrices would redevelop... but I always fix 'em right after the post-bleach wash, I guess I'll never know...

I just ordered the sulfuric acid to try out Tim's Copper Sulfate bleach recipe. Had to fill out a DEA form... my wife thinks I'm running a meth lab as it is...

I have used a dichromate bleach as part of a develop-bleach-redevelop process - Depending on the papers & developers, it can produce some interesting warm brown/orange tones.

As for sulphuric acid - Have you tried your local auto or motorcycle shop ? Many places stocked "battery acid", which is sulphuric acid diluted a bit (usually around 30%).
