So, I was in the darkroom the other day and I was just about to make my print using the #4 contrast on my control panel when I hit the "expose" botton, it exposed for a second and then the light went out.
Now, every other contrast number works for it on the control panel like it was before. Is my enlarger on its way out or is there a way to fix this without a $100/hr tech? Also, could I just compensate for the odd time I use the #4 contrast by using the #3-1/2 contrast filter on the control panel and then hold a 1/2 contrast filter underneath the lens?
It's hard for me to pinpoint the problem 'cause I'm not even sure how these enlarger heads work, 'cause the filters, focusing light, etc are all internal and it's not something I really understand. I tried to find some info online, but can't seem to find anything helpful.
Thanks...Jordan.
