Interesting. I like how not being completely sharp adds to the "ghostly" effect.

Also, I find it a bit amusing that Canon sponsored the prize while the winning photo was taken with Nikon gear

She definately has a unique style or at least different from what I am used to seeing in animal photographs. I don't know if it has anything to do with the medium she uses (I hope this photo wasn't the only time she used film ). Still I think it's pretty cool, that the photo was made on B/W 35mm film and not converted to bw later.

Nice to see an image of a big cat that isn't about counting its whiskers. It isn't all about sharpness and freezing the motion with wildlife photography.

I thought the Canon prize was funny too...
