First time I hear of that magazine, already at first glance I found some interesting articles.

However you erroneously sorted this thread under "Hybrid". But there is not even a hint at a hybrid workflow in those articles. Not surprising with them being from the 90s...

Great stuff I had never seen before (being in the US). Thank you for sharing! I like that information from a time when film still ruled (see early digital SLR from the linked pages). Maybe the thread title could be more descriptive; "Photon:" I thought this might be some publication about the UK arm of the CERN lab.

"Popular Photography" issues are on the net. They got quite some US ads with prices at the back

Prices of film and accessories from back then would be interesting.
You can use the way back machine and have a look at snapshots of sites in the late 90s, early 2000. I did it in the past and felt depressed.

Subscribed to this magazine (and its predecessor) for many years - was gutted when it finished. Still have them for reading - it was one of the better pro magazines available in the 80s and 90s.

Thanks for the heads up!

I looked up the average wages and prices for when my Medalist was made.

In 1946, 1 house = ~85 Kodak Medalists.

I bought a couple of 1955 editions of Amateur Photographer at an antiques fair a couple of years ago and the prices of everything photographic advertised in those magazines in relation to 1955 wages were all eye-wateringly expensive . Yes there was a short period in my experience from the late 2000s and maybe extending into the present day when film and paper became more expensive but this may not have been true of cameras. However by and large analogue photography in relation to wages has never been so cheap on a broader timescale

Now if only we had a web archive of Darkroom & creative camera technique! I lost all my old issues in a divorce.

Mark, I've just recently acquired a binder filled with this magazine. Two are from 1985, the rest fall between 1991 and 1994.
If there's a specific article you're interested in, just yell, I'd be happy to scan it for you. That being said, my "collector" was either poor or only intermittently interested as not every copy was purchased in that time frame so I'm only 80% likely to have an item. At any rate, I'll happily have a hunt for anything of interest to you or any one else.

Kindly,
Molli

P.S. Thank you for the link, Mr. Kershaw!
