A third of a stop extra in speed for Xtol seems quite a lot but useful to know.
In terms of my safety with that noise, no people and a hood over my head I'd have been worried about a big Grizzly behind some bushes saying to the wife "Tell the kids that breakfast will be ready soon"

Which probably means you are safe unless you happen to have a couple of honey glazed doughnuts in your pockets or camera bags.
Bears can be very curious animals. I wonder what they think if they come across Andrew out in the woods?
