I read about his passing this morning. We've been losing a lot of great photographers lately

I somehow missed this post. As Lachlan mentioned, I worked with Brian as his printer for 25 years, so was a good friend and a great inspiring photographer to work for. First knew of him though in the late 70s with his work for Echo and the Bunnymen. Saw him two days before he died at an exhibition of his I printed, so was such a shock to hear. Funeral was last week in his Midlands hometown in the Black Country and we're currently organising his London memorial. So many memories of times with him, exhibitions, talks, regular visits to my lab and some of the trips for exhibition openings. Lots in the UK, especially at Derby for the Format Festival, which he was a proud patron of, but others further afield in France, Poland and Iceland. He is going to be so missed!! Good obituary by Simon Bainbridge in the BJP.
