Having mailed a check from Ohio on July 31st, my copy arrived today (8/11/2011) with a little puzzle that soon cleared itself. The return address label on the box showed “J. Armin Rust, Attorney at Law”

Opening the book, the dedication reads,
“for J. Armin Rust, the best friend an artist could have.
And for Erica Weston, who suggested the book.”

Erica’s website reads,
“Erica Weston Editions was formed in 2011 by Erica Weston and J. Armin Rust. Erica is the daughter of photographer Brett Weston and the grandaughter of photographer Edward Weston. J. Armin Rust is a noted photographic collector. The first publication of Erica Weston Editions is A Restless Eye, the definitive biography of Brett Weston by John Charles Woods.” Dead Link Removed

The book looks beautiful, great vintage well printed photos, beautiful text on quality paper. I will start reading it tonight. It looks like a very good buy for anyone trying to decide.

Brett Weston Biography Book Signing + Exhibition Sept 10 Weston Gallery

The Weston Gallery is having an exhibition celebrating what would have been Brett Weston’s upcoming 100th birthday, in conjunction with the publication of “A Restless Eye” by John Charles Woods. John, along with Brett’s daughter and the book’s publisher Erica Weston, will be on hand at the opening reception and book signing Saturday, September 10, 2011 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at the Weston Gallery in Carmel, California. This will be a great opportunity to meet John and have him - and perhaps Erica - sign your copy of “A Restless Eye” and at the same time enjoy an exhibition of Brett’s original prints.

The exhibition runs through October 8, 2011.

For those who are not able to attend the book signing, you can contact the Weston Gallery to order a book, have it autographed and shipped to you.
