I haven't seen it mentioned yet but I might have missed it. Bradford Washburn passed away the other day. Interesting guy. Mountaineer, photographer, cartagrapher and founder of the Museum of Science in Boston. I came across his work after seeing a spread in Lenswork just last year.
I had the good fortune to meet Mr. Washburn some years ago at an exhibit of his photographs at Mount Holyoke College. His work was exhibited along with the legendary mountain photographer Vittorio Sella. The two giants of mountain photography for sure.
Brad's wife Barbara was the first woman to summit Mount McKinley in Alaska. A delightful couple.
