Brügge

Nice image from around here. Pity the green cast on the tower...

You spelled that name wrongly. "Brügge" is the german spelling. The true, flemish spelling is Brugge.

A weird place, crowded by people. All streaming alongside a few major streets, small backside alleys are deserted and no one out of that stream looks into them.

The Anglicised name (and the French) is Bruges. Name Brugge means “bridge”. Very crowded there, been 4 or 5 times over the years. I’d love to go back out of season when it’s quiet but the low season is short because there are christmas markets too.

Thanks for the comments. Yes it is crowded in some places but not all. Very interesting history in connection with art and with European royalty. Good places to eat good food all through the town. The Flemish spelling is correct, my apologies. Tried to edit the title and couldn't find a way to do it.

The colour of the church spire doesn't really bother me, it is obvious that the image was recorded either in the early morning or late evening when the sun was low in the sky and the colour was very warm. (My guess is it is early in the morning) But what does look a little out of kilter, is the road leading towards the church.Yes, it is naturally in shadow but it comes across as too deep and should be lightened to resemble what the human eye sees.
