Dear photographers,

My tiny pocket computer mixed again all of us. Everybody should have a got message from me with a pair of addresses. The first block contains your own address as given to me. Please, make certain that your own address is correct. PM me as soon as possible if a correction is needed to YOUR address.
Please don't mind the numbers, I need them while "mixing" us.

The second block contains the address of your partner: You have to send your print(s) to there. Please wait a few days before sending anything to allow time for corrections. Make sure you mark your box with your name and

BPX 42
on it.

If you are unable to complete your assignment, it is understandable - life often gets in a way of our hobbies. However, it would be very helpful if you let me know so that I could change the assignment to somebody else.

If something is or seems to be wrong, please PM me.

Our timeline: Please print and send your offering till end of August 2023

How to avoid taxes / VAT:

If a sending goes outside the U.S. (or more correct: outside your country) it should be a letter, and not a parcel or similar.

Everything you simply put in the letterbox should be a letter. Anything you give at the office may induce taxes. Everything with a custom declaration will induce taxes.

Please keep in mind what "counts" as a letter in your country. In the U.S. it needs to be flexible. In Germany, it may be stiff.

Have fun with BPX!

Well, Uwe, it didn't take long for them to get here. I got three prints (very generous). It's nice to see you get the same stylized graffiti there as we do here - I guess it's a universal thing, now. I wonder if they work from a font book?

I really like the willow tree. I don't see any of them around here - although there are a lot of "weeping" willows - where all those tiny branches droop down, so they never look as spiny as yours. The buildings just behind them make the trees look huge. I also like that paper - is that the natural colour or is it toned?

The largest photo is also very nice. I love matte paper but find it challenging to get it to look how I want - yours is a great print. Burrs that are at least similar to what's in your photo grow around here - I was out with my then 3-year-old daughter for a walk and she got some stuck on here shoe. She started to scream like someone had cut off her hand. I couldn't help but be reminded of that when I saw your photo. (She's now nine but still considers burrs evil.)

Thanks you very much. I should go work on mine....

Oh, also, the envelope managed to get the return address label almost entirely scuffed off but none of the prints inside suffered any damage. I'm always amazed when things don't get folded into three by postal workers.

I have a scan of the willows here. The scan does not reproduce the color and look-and-feel of the real thing.

I got two packages of this very silver rich ORWO paper, BNN 111 (with two N). It does not have fog, but is very soft. So I add some selenium toning to the prints which makes them slightly more contrasty.

Yesterday I received two wonderful prints from Buzz-01 / Sebastiaan. The first is a hunting cat. It does not hunt mice but flies and bugs (as our cats also does). I am pleased that the old stock Agfa paper still gives good results.

The second is a boat at the shore at low tide. There is a heavy iron string in the mud, leading the view to the boat. Wonderful! My wife like this print too. It is only 13x18 cm², but as Sebastiaan wrote, it reminds of the old days when "hand prints" were common. I print a lot in 13x18 too.

Wow, I received not one, not two, but three nice prints from don_ih! And a nice letter with the backstories. First is a nice still life of a branch and two leaves in a cup on a table. A 4x5 shot, this is my favorite. Then a somewhat close-up of some tall grass. Sorry about the ants. And a square shot of a tree looking up. Great shots, thanks Don!

@mfohl -- I'm glad they made it.
The interesting thing about the bean plant in the photo is, a few days later, it started to grow new leaves. I thought it was dead....

Not much mail, apart from junk mail, these days, so it very nice to find a photograph in the mail box! A believe it is from Miscco. A very nice photo from a trip to Georgia in 2019. Thank you!

I sent my print back at the end of July! I hadn’t realized there’s a new status thread here. I hope it made it safely! (Edit: I see above that it made it safely to Trond!)
