Apologies if this has been posted before. I have searched the forum prior to posting.

I have just bought a paperback book entitled "Capturing the Light" ('a true story of genius, rivalry and the birth of photography') by Roger Watson and Helen Rappaport ISBN 978-1-4472-1258-4

This book is aimed at the general reader and describes the story of the rivals, English scientist, Henry Fox Talbot and the French entrepreneur Loius Daguerre.

I have only just started the book but I thought this may be of interest to forum members. The book has received good reviews from the British Newspapers, Financial Times, Observer and Sunday Telegraph. I have no connection to this book other than having just bought it.

I have actually read it twice now. Once in ebook format and then I ordered the hardback several months later and read it again. I have loaned it out several times since. Very well written and easy to understand in my opinion.
