Hi,
So I’m trying to source a blue Wratten 47 kind of filter for Blad lenses however it is extremely hard to find. There are many 80, 81 and 82s but they are color correction filters however I’ve found a pop 480 filter which is actually quite dark blue like #47. Is that what I think it is for?
I need also similar filter for e39 Leica lenses which are again difficult to find.
Cheers,
F
What would these filters be used for? The reason I'm asking is because for some work certain wavelengths need to be affected very precisely, but for other uses it's fine to use another filter as long as it's "medium" or "dark" something.
Then the blue colour correction filters will work fine, and they are often used just for freckles and such with black and white film. The darker the blue the more the redder tones on the skin will show.
Another filter for this outdoors is the yellow-green. The skin will get more "character" at the same time as the clouds stand out better (it's the opposite with blue filters).
You can get a B60 adapter and then get other filters. I have done that and it works fine. i even have it with a #47. I have some Hasselblad filters and some B+W filters using B60 adapters.
