You mean Omega D-2V?

75 watts came standard.

It is NOT very bright but is quite sufficient for the purpose intended.

Check the arrangement of the condensers matches the focal length of the lens and the format you are trying to print. Also check that the bulb is not a normal household one being mis-used.

I concur with both of the above. A 75 watt bulb is standard and quite sufficient. A normal household bulb will work for light tests but will generally, be a big disappointment for actual enlarging use. The condenser must be the correct set for the negative size and enlarging lens. Test with an actual negative in a negative carrier....Oh and the cone has to be the correct length too...it will all make sense if you can focus a negative on the base board. Testing without focussing a negative is kinda hard until you've done it and ahave a feel for these machines.

Don't give up. These are great engalrgers!

Make sure your enlarging lens is actually capable of opening to its maximum aperture. Check the light path to be sure the previous owner had not installed some type of diffusion.
