Last week I have received two wonderful Christmas presents:

"Blue Hosta" from Bob Slaughter. Great textures of the leaves, a quite special metallic look. Nice!
"Guardian of Darkness" from Mike Clark. This is truly one of the best prints I have ever received in this exchange. Very skillful toning gave this print a true 3D look. Very-very impressive! Thank you!

A bit of bad news. Unfortunately I had to dismantle my darkroom in order to build a wheelchair-accessible shower for myself. I will not be able to participate in the upcoming exchanges. If anyone would like to manage the BPX from now on, please step forward!

I wish all the best for the new year to everyone. I mailed with Eugene, and we decided that I keep running BPX in the future.
As far as I recognize the next round - BPX 25 - needs to be started now. We have this round not finished yet, three participants need to send their print. May I ask you to comlete that in January, or drop us/me a line if that is not possible?
I open the BPX 25 signup thread in teh next few days.

Some words about me: I live in Germany, in Leipzig, where I was born. I am married, have two adult children and two (and a half) grandchildren. I work in an hospital in the IT departement. Other hobbyhorses of mine are astronomy and making canoeing trips.

Leipzig ist my photographic main interest. Mostly I shoot 6x6, using a Rolleiflex 3,5 F or a Tele Rollei. When I need more extreme lenses I uses a Kiev 60 for which I have quite a lot of lenses. Sometimes I walk around with an old russian panorama camera, called Horizont. Rarely I shoot 35 mm, mostly with an old Canon 500. I love this body because it is feather light. The most lenses I use are old 42 mm lenses with an adapter.

In the lab, I used an Opemus 4 enlarger for 30+ years . Now I have a Dead Link Removed, which I love for its dichroitic multigrade filters. After decades of a "flying darkroom" I have a permanent lab now.

I have received a couple of lovely prints from Black Dog. One a very soft and delicate photograph called 'Winter Remnants', its a very enjoyable photograph so thank you for sharing. The other a smaller Polaroid sized print exhibiting well considered focusing/shallow depth of field, and although soft it has a lovely depth and contrast that sits well against 'Winter Remnants'.

Thanks for the appreciative comments-the 'Winter Remnants' was from a whole roll I took of a WW2 bunker in Normandy and was the most minimal picture from that day....very different from all the others and it didn't really fit in with the set I put together, though now I think I might be able to fit it in, maybe if I shoot a few more linking images. Various images from the series have surfaced in the postcard exchange and several were published in Ag magazine in 2009.

I just received a wonderful print from John Edwards. It shows an very interesting view of the Bryce Canon in Utah. I think taht a scan cannot tronsport the real spirit of the image, but look for yourself:
