Yes, there are. I corresponded a little with one fellow who can't read his meter. He uses a modified meter which locks the needle on a Braille scale.

Just do a web search, and you'll find lots of blind photographers.

I was 20/1600 before surgery... I do miss popping out a contact lens for ground glass focusing... although I was so far gone my eyes were unable to take in a 4x5" glass as I was about 1.5" away. Now I am 20/20 or so without aid... but tied to reading glasses and I kinda hate it.
I have other issues I will not go into in this public forum.
