Blair Camera Company 1891 Hawk-Eye Detective 4X5 dry plate camera in all natural oak wood finish and one Blair Camera Co. dry plate holders. This is the improved model with separate shutter releases for Time and Instantaneous exposures. This model does not have a hinged door on the front. The tensioning wire protrudes at the top of the camera. The wire can be moved to one of three positions. This allows for three levels of tension for three different shutter speeds - slow, medium and fast. Th ere are two buttons at the top, one on each side of the tensioning wire. These are the shutter release buttons, one for time and one for instantaneous exposures. The shutter appears to be working properly. Focus is internal with a knob on the top of the camera with a scale but the back plate on the camera can be removed and a focusing ground glass inserted which I do not have.
