Are you talking about neutral-black printing
papers such as Gallerie? Or is there some mystical
thought in your mind that we cannot fathom?
I'm not playing court jester and have not discovered
from centuries gone by a process long buried and forgotten.
I've the usual sort of emulsions on a black paper in mind.
Of course the results from a usual processing will be a black
image. Sepia or Gold or ... toners will make the image visible.
If the print is lith processed very colorful results against
a black background will result.
Perhaps some who coat their own paper have tried it. Dan
