Black and White Photography survey

Issue 59 of Black and White Photography contains a readers survey that will be used to shape the future content of that magazine.
Since the incentive to complete and submit the form is an inkjet printer, I feel the replies submitted will be biased towards the inkjet printing fraternity.
Although such an implement is as much use to us a chocolate teapot, and therefore not much of an incentive, I feel that those readers among us should take the time to complete the survey to balance that bias; and perhaps take the opportunity of suggesting alternative novel uses for the freebie.

For how long will they be accepting responses? Issue 59 is the May issue and will not be on the stands in the US until the last week of May, first week of June. (I just got issue 57 two weeks ago)

Perhaps someone could scan into a PDF and post here?

What Dave forgot to say

The current issue of B&W features his own darkroom ! I did contemplate getting a large van and relieving him of his great garden shed, as I knew he was away up north for a UK Apug members event, but I had a photo shoot organised . . . .

Unfortunately it also comes with a free insert about lenses for digital cameras. With luck overseas subscribers to B&W and Outdoor Photography won't recieve it as it's totally biased to UK advertisers.

We really do need to reply with plenty about film usage, I'll fill mine out now.

Yes congratulations Dave, you seem to be making a habit of appearing in B&W. It looks like they got the caption of your photo of Houghton Mill wrong though. Houghton spelt wrong and that doesn't look much like Delta 100, more like Maco IR.

Do you really develop all your prints in a Jobo drum?

It is a little sad that with all the great photographic equipment out there, some of which (professional tripods, camera backpacks, etc.) would be of use to both traditional and digital workers, they choose to offer a computer peripheral as a prize...

All the more reason for us traditional photographers to make sure our responses are sent in and our voices heard.

Along with Bill and many others I would like to participate in the survey somehow and get my response in on time. I don't subscribe currently but I do buy issues off the newstand from time to time. If there was a PDF to download I could then fax my completed survey in.

Quite right Mike, the gremlins crept into the captioning. It's Houghton Mill as you say, and there is a better reproduction of it in my APUG gallery; at least on my monitor.
It was taken on Maco IR 820c, and developed in Prescysol EF. I develope my 16x12 paper in a Jobo drum, the 10x8 size is done in a Paterson Orbital processer.

The readers survey from B&W overseas readers will be just as important to them as those from the domestic market, so I will be very surprised if they don't wait for them, and take them into account.

You mean the bags and tripods that they market for digital can be used for film? Shocking!

I understand your Sentiments Dave, but I wonder what other potential prizes were offered by B&W's advertisers? As to the requests for a scan of the form, I'll give it a go tonight although I wonder how everyone will re-produce it, surely not with a printer

You are probably right, Nicole. It's academic for me, 'cos when I got home I realised I had already sent it off! (sorry). I do recall, thought, that the form was a sheet of paper printed on both sides that could be folded up and sent to a pre-paid (UK only) address. So I guess it would not have been much use to people overseas.
