Ok- here's the next step in my Rome trip: processing all this film. That's 35 rolls of Tri-X, 35 rolls of mostly Ektar 100 with some Portra 160 and 800 mixed in, and 9 rolls of FP4+. image.jpg
Wish me luck!

How many can you process at once? My daily limit is the drying cabinet. It only holds 12 rolls of 35mm.

I bet when you ask your friends if they would like to see your holiday snaps, they are reluctant to say yes cos they'll still be there two days later.:D

Even before something like this, just showing the couple dozen phone-cam shots I have people start glazing over. I'm going to post these to my blog and send people there where they can browse at their leisure and interest.

So you'll have to scan them all too! Another huge process. Obviously let's not discuss it too much, per Apug rules, but what do you use to get so many negs scanned?

I've got the slight advantage of them all being on 120, which means I can visually peruse and edit some in advance before putting film to scanner, but when I do scan I dust off the Epson V750.

Print them all in the enlarger!

Alas, my current enlarger is not set up to do color, and even if it were, I'd rather not do RA-4 at home - the chemistry is too stinky and too harsh on my respiratory system. Running the C-41 batches is bad enough. For the color stuff, I'll content myself with scanning for now. I do have 44 rolls of b/w to get through once the 35 color ones are done.

You're working much faster than I am! Since the end of September I've only managed about 40 rolls (out of 111). I had hoped to be finished by the end of October, but the end of November looks more realistic.

You are going to need a lot of music in your darkroom!

Ok, 24 rolls of b/w down, 16 rolls of C-41. So that's 20 rolls of b/w left to go, and 19 rolls of C-41. Almost halfway through. I'm going to try and block off Sunday to get through the C-41. I'll probably finish at least the Tri-X (11 rolls remaining) tonight/tomorrow night, then do the FP4+ (9 rolls) either on Saturday or some day next week.

The more time it gets to process and scan the more fun you get, isn't it? Unlike shooting digital the thrill, if there is any, is so short that in a split second (time to press the shutter button) and it is over. I process and scan all my own films. It is work and fun as well. However, this is with a condition that you have the time to do it. I am retired so time is not an issue to me. Yes, music adds more fun to it too.

I'm impressed! I'm only about halfway through my stash, although I finished the Tri-X yesterday as well (10 rolls). Now, onto the HP5+ and Acros...
