Hi everybody! Yep thats right, another new member to welcome!
My name is James, I'm 26 and from Hampshire in the UK.
I've been shooting film since I was about 8 or 9, but seriously since I studied photography at college aged 16. I was pretty lucky, as that was just before digital started filtering into the course and at a time when there seemed to be a real revival of traditional Black and White techniques.
Using the medium format Mamiya C330's, Mamiya RB's and Hasselblads at college really opened my eyes and I have shot mostly 120 film since.
I still shoot and develop 120 and 35mm black and white films, but nowadays scan the results as I no longer have access to (or the space for) a darkroom.
I am a bit of a vintage camera enthusiast (especially TLR's), the blame for which can be rested on my first medium format camera, a Yashica 124G. Since then I have bought, used, got bored with and sold a fair few old cameras!
I currently own a 1932 Rolleiflex, a Mamiya C3 and a Kodak Retinette 1B. I am a frugal photographer and hate spending lots of money on equipment. All three of my current cameras have been bought cheaply on ebay.
I look forward to taking part in this community and enjoying traditional Black and White photography for as long as I can!
