Hello from Ottawa.
Would anyone know where I can find a replacement flash-post for my Flash Supermatic? Mine lost one post and the plastic shattered. It must have taken a bump at some point, and the plastic probably old and fragile.
It's still a nice lens otherwise.
I have looked for a parts lens; none found as yet. I'll likely just have to wait for one to come up.
Thanks to those who know.

I have this lens available, don't know if the posts are interchangeable or not. The postage to Canada may be more than the lens is worth. PM me if you're interested.

I see, but these 2-pole connectors come in two sizes: the bigger one with a rigde at each side of the male part and the smaller one with flat sides.
The latter is the one for shavers.

Alternative option: If you're not worried about restoring to original condition, consider switching it to a 3.5mm audio jack connector.

Set it so it tucks vertically up against the side of the shutter body, and wires back through the old Bi-Post connection hole. Just design your mount such that the mount should break if the camera is dropped, rather than the mount breaking the shutter body?

[I have the parts in a drawer to do this to a Supermatic I own. Worked easily enough on my test setup, but I keep forgetting about getting paint to make a more finished look and permanently mount it. I made the mounting bracket out of aluminum so that it reuses the original screws.]
