I've been buying enlarging paper from B&H for many years. Lately they have less in stock & more items tagged "special order. Expected availability 2-4 weeks." I ordered some 16x20 Foma Variant lll (and paid on ordering plus shipping charges)
on Sept 2..... It was delivered today Dec 16: 3 months later. Makes it tough to print a project with those kind of timelines. At the moment BH has only Ilford & a little Bergger in 16x20. From the outside it seems as if B&H is downsizing their enlarging paper inventory......
Yeah, Foma is definitely tied up with Freestyle. Freestyle keeps more stock items and the Freestyle house brands are Foma. I think Foma may be the hiccup, I've had to wait for paper, Foma makes some amazing papers. So does Ilford.
Jim, I was looking for glossy Foma Variant lll, rather than a generic paper. I've been printing on Foma for a long time now & liked the results.....after Forte Polywarmtone disappeared. It seems like Foma might be on the way out....since it's harder & harder to find, sad to say
@GregY it looks like you are in Canada? Jacques at argentix.ca (a Photrio sponsor) can get Foma stuff reliably and quickly. I use a lot of Foma paper for lith printing and always buy from him.
